More about Greg Manset

Greg Manset’s passion for journalism and the media universe started early on. At the age of 17, he won an international journalism contest for young students. After receiving this prize, he went on to collaborate with several Belgian newspapers and magazines. He studied journalism at IHECS (Brussels-Belgium) and founded a press agency with his then-associate Christine Scholtes in 1998. Known as Categorynet.com this press agency sells press content and journalistic reports/articles to online and offline media. Soon after its inception the Categorynet.com began to specialize in online content (the agency works with famous online website such as MSN or Ask Jeeves). Aside from his main activity as content provider, Greg Manset also edits two magazines. The monthly magazine “Mode d'emploi” featuring career related topics and Categorynet.com, a French portal about journalism and media. When the Internet bubble burst for the first time in the early 2000s and the industry experienced its first crisis, the founders of Categorynet.com decided to concentrate on the development of their site Categorynet.com. Today Categorynet.com is one of the biggest French communities specialized in press and PR content.

In addition to being chief editor of Categorynet.com and other specialised B2B vertical sites (about media, marketing such as Planete-rp.com, ...), Greg Manset has continued to work as an independent editorial consultant for many international companies. He also helped to develop other Internet communities. In 2007, he was appointed country manager for the launch of the international marketplace Bobex.com. Greg Manset is also regularly invited to give speeches at communication conferences and journalism schools.

Last but not least, Greg Manset is also a co-author of a book about Windows XP (published by Micro Application Editions – France) and a member of several journalism associations (European Journalism Association, Reporters without borders, …).
